CCA Campus Center

The former Wattis gallery at the San Francisco campus of California College of the Arts is transformed into a Campus Center that is now the hub of student activity. Utilizing the existing layout of the front and back gallery, the Campus Center offers two distinct gathering spaces for the campus. The daylight lit front gallery offers students and faculty a casual meeting place at the entrance of the campus across from the cafe, while the back gallery creates a more intimate study lounge for group gatherings. A mixture of off-the-shelf as well as Jensen Architects designed custom furniture allowed the school to create the lounge on a modest budget and short timeframe.
