Emeryville Center for the Arts

A radical openness to the community will be achieved in this world-class contemporary visual & performing arts facility. This conversion of an existing un-reinforced brick warehouse will include a 250-seat theater with retractable seating, an exhibition gallery, a cafe, administration offices, back-of-house support & utility spaces, and an exterior courtyard. The exterior streetscape and landscape improvements along 40th & Hollis Streets and at adjoining Civic Plaza will add life to the area. The building extends beyond itself to reach into the community and infuse art into daily life.
