Sweetgreen Los Angeles

Sweetgreen LA is the first West Coast location for a growing chain of farm-to-table restaurants that began with three college friends who saw a lack of healthy, quick, and affordable dining in Washington, D.C. Within the restaurant’s double-height space, a wood and glass mezzanine defines the open food-prep and serving area while providing seating above. Shifting more kitchen functions to the front of house where customers can become spectators to their food’s preparation highlights Sweetgreen’s dedication to transparent, seasonal, and local food. The material and color palette is kept raw and muted in the form of steel, concrete, and simple additions in ceramic tile and white oak to showcase the vibrancy of the menu’s ingredients. On the exterior, a large neon sign marks the current season for a metropolis in seemingly constant summer.
