La Scuola Mission Campus Building

The Joy of Learning

An international collaboration leads to a new home for a growing school.

Set in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission Neighborhood, La Scuola International School sought a future-looking home for its expanding community. Through a collaboration between Italian design architect ZPZ Partners and JENSEN as architect of record, a new school building will create colorful and light-filled learning spaces aligned with the school’s Reggio Emilia pedagogy and mission, ‘To inspire brave learners to shape the future!’

The new Mission campus building will host ateliers for food, art, music, and making. The design of the building embraces the concept of the ‘environment as teacher’ with natural materials, abundant daylight, and outdoor spaces to nurture healthy and immersive learning. The building includes ten classrooms, administrative offices, and a flexible ground-floor gathering space for food and instruction.
